Hiking the Great Basin: The High Desert Country of California, Nevada, and Utah (Sierra Club Totebook)

By John Hart. Good little book. If anything, errs on the side of too much information. Compact size good for packs.

These photos were taken during our Thanksgiving, 2000 visit to Great Basin National Park, Nevada. We never thought much of visiting Nevada, but I was away in Colorado, Kim back in California, so we decided to rendezvous roughly half way. The high alpine scenery of Great Basin and around the city of Ely impressed us greatly! The land is certainly dry, but above 7000', one finds surprisingly lush forests.
