PHASE OF A MINIMUM-PHASE FILTER

In chapter [*] we learned that the inverse of a causal filter B(Z) is causal if B(Z) has no roots inside the unit circle. The term ``minimum phase'' was introduced there without motivation. Here we examine the phase, and learn why it is called ``minimum."
