Columbia Finger and the Clark Range from Tresidder Peak's summit ridge
June 14, 2002, Tresidder Peak II -
Our attempt to avenge defeat in 1999.
Sadly, after a failed, but valiant (by our lowly standards) attempt on the south face of Tresidder's south arete,
the score is: Tresidder Peak 2, K&M 0.
August 3, 2002, Mount Starr King -
The 5.0 (or so) southeast slopes of this perfect granite dome seemed like the perfect first multipitch
climb for our inexperienced "team". The climbing proved fun and uneventful, but the descent gave us
enough adventure to last a couple days. All-in-all, a fun climb and good learning experience.
August 5, 2002, Mount Conness: North Ridge -
All descriptions of this route led me to believe that it would be a perfect stepping stone from
Mount Starr King to ???. Although it turned into a 15-hour epic, we ended up learning a heck of a
lot about the commitment level involved in backcountry climbing, and grew considerably as a team.
And after we got a little "R and R", we even looked back on this climb with a bit of fondness.
