Conclusions

Direct arrivals from the drill bit can be seen clearly in the data recorded during a ``quiet'' period, when all pumps within the array were turned off. Stacking these arrivals over the appropriate moveout trajectory gives a source signal estimate that can be used in crosscorrelation to enhance the drill-bit signal. Searching the crosscorrelated data for energy sources may reveal scattering of drill bit energy off subsurface structure.
