One of the early steps is to extend the time-frequency bandwidth of
the data. Although there may be no intention of going out beyond Nyquist,
it is prudent to begin by resampling the data in time at least by a factor
of two, and by an amount such that the new Nyquist is greater than three
times the temporal frequency seperating the aliased and non-aliased regions.
If this resampling is carried out in the frequency domain, then the traces
should be predicted out from both ends for several cycles, or tapered in
amplitude at each end.
