CONCLUSIONS

Circularly symmetric 2-D filters can be designed efficiently using the McClellan transformation. This method needs only the 1-D filter coefficients to be stored, and requires only N stages compared to N2 for 2-D convolution filter implementation. The transformation filter has non-circular response for higher wavenumbers. This can be improved upon by using a higher order 2-D filter.
