Rock physics core measurements were made by Zhijing Wang at Chevron's research facility Wang and Cates (1994). Six core samples were taken from the injection well location in the P and K formations prior to steamflooding. The samples range from clean fine sand, to clay/silt/sand. The samples show highly unconsolidated sedimentary material. Some samples show coarse sand pockets that might represent potential high-porosity, high-permeability micro channels.
