My father's parents Fanny and Issac are ancestors most everyone here. Three people here do not have them as ancestors, but they have plenty kids with those ancestors. At the end of the photos I'll tell you which are the three. I'll also tell a hundred year old anecdote of Fanny, Issac and their sons Oscar and John my father.

Mother Nory, sister Janna, sister Lorna and sons Gavin and Ross
My mother Nory, 91, proved that lack of a short term memory
is no requisite to being a good entertainer.
Gavin leaving home now. A tender time for Lorna.
Clare, daughter of my nephew Kevin (sister Janna's son)
Kevin has his arm around his mother (as Jos often did) Janna, my sister.
Kate (daughter of nephew Kevin and Liz)
sister Lorna
My nephew Ross (Lorna's son)
sister Janna and Dick!
Dick is widower to my cousin and wife to my sister Janna.
So, who does not have Fannie and Issac Claerbout as ancestors? One from each of the older generations. My mother Nory, Janna's husband Dick, and Kevin's wife Liz. As mentioned above these three have plenty of kids with those ancestors.
And who were Fannie and Issac Claerbout? They had a nearby farm. They actually lived in Iowa when my father was born but soon moved here to the land these summer cottages are now on. I learned that the move from Iowa was done by train-- with all their farm animals! Dad's brother Oscar (ancestor of Dick's children) rode with the animals but Dad was so little he had to stay in the passenger compartment. Fannie and Issac both died shortly before I was born in 1938.
Dad and Oscar had side-by-side cottages. Oscar's has gone to daughter Hazel's daughter Ann who is too young for me to have known in childhood. I did know Hazel's son Lee who has another cottage about 4 doors down the lake.
