This page lists all documents included with the Intel® Math Kernel Library (Intel® MKL) package, provides links to them and outlines the type of information that you can find in each of these documents.
| Document Name | File Name / Path | Type of Information in the Document | Comment |
| Intel(R) MKL Release Notes | Release_Notes.htm | Information about this release and how to use the library
with various compilers. Includes:
|
For details about the compiler and linking options, threading, and memory management with Intel MKL, see Intel MKL User's Guide. |
| Intel(R) MKL Reference Manual | mklman.pdf | Contains detailed descriptions of the functions and interfaces
for all library domains:
|
For implementation-specific information about the library,
see Intel MKL Release Notes
and Intel MKL User's Guide.
For detailed information on VML and VSL functionality, see VML Notes and VSL Notes documents, respectively.
You can also use the online HTML version
of the manual available at http://www.intel.com/software/products |
| Intel(R) MKL User's Guide | userguide.pdf | Provides Intel MKL usage information in greater detail: getting started information, application compiling and linking depending on a particular platform and function domain; building custom DLLs; configuring the development environment; coding mixed-language calls; threading; memory management; ways to obtain best performance, etc. | |
|
Eclipse Plugin with Intel(R) MKL Reference Manual |
tools/plugins/com.intel.mkl.help |
A plugin for Eclipse Help with a WebHelp version of the Intel MKL Reference Manual |
To use the plugin, place it into the plugins folder of your Eclipse directory, start Eclipse, choose Help -> Help Contents in the menu bar, click the Intel(R) Math Kernel Library Help bookmark in the left-hand panel and then the Intel(R) Math Kernel Library Reference Manual bookmark below, if necessary. Starting from Intel(R) MKL 10.0, the plugin provides an option to extend search over the www.intel.com site. Run Search from the standard Eclipse Help panel and check Intel.com search results to see it work. |
| Man pages of Intel MKL | man/man3 | A collection of man pages for Intel MKL functions | Note
for Windows* users: To get a guaranteed correct display, view the Intel MKL man pages using the Linux console rather than a Windows* shell client. |
| VML Notes | vmlnotes.htm | A brief discussion of the Vector Math Library (VML) functions with links to performance details of the functions | For a description of VML function API, see the respective chapter of the Intel MKL Reference Manual. |
| VSL Notes | vslnotes.pdf | A discussion of basic and distribution Random Number Generators used in the Vector Statistical Library (VSL) and their test results | For a description of VSL function APIs, see the respective chapter of the Intel MKL Reference Manual. |
| FFTW to Intel(R) MKL Wrappers Technical User Notes for FFTW 2.x | fftw2xmkl_notes.htm | Describes a set of wrappers that allow the FFTW interface version 2.x to call the Intel MKL discrete Fourier transform interface (DFTI) and provides installation instructions. | The wrappers are intended for both C and Fortran interfaces. |
| FFTW to Intel(R) MKL Wrappers Technical User Notes for FFTW 3.x | fftw3xmkl_notes.htm | Describes a set of wrappers that allow the FFTW interface version 3.x to call the Intel MKL discrete Fourier transform interface (DFTI) and provides installation instructions. | The wrappers are intended for both C and Fortran interfaces. |
Note. For better keyword search capabilities when viewing files in PDF format, we recommend using Search feature of Adobe* Acrobat Reader* version 6.0 or higher.
