While Jos, 21, was the first official tour guide at the historic Kennecott Mine in the Wrangell / St. Elias National Park in Alaska, his brother Martin got married in Hawaii. Jos came. Here he is, offering his wedding toast. He even had a few words in Japanese for the bride's parents, words he had learned in Fairbanks at a summer school in '91.
His wedding gift to Yasuko and Martin was something that he had selected with great care and could ill afford: a fur rug/blanket from an Alaskan Elk.
