Wheeler Peak (13,000'+) at sunset, from a range of 10-15 miles. This is the highest peak in GBNP, and I believe the second highest in the state of Nevada. In addition to forests of Bristlecone Pine trees, Wheeler Peak has a large glacial cirque on its northern slopes. Although no glacier lies in the cirque today, the 2000' headwall and moraines leave no doubt. I believe this was the only glacier in all of Nevada.
