We hiked the Wheeler Peak trail from an elevation of 7800' to around 10,000'. Along the way we were treated to lots of cool trees, especially the thick Aspens. Make no mistake--Nevada is arid. Still, we were impressed with the lushness of high alpine forests in the Ely area.
