EXAMPLES

I now present three interpolation examples. The first example is a constant velocity medium, in order to get a feeling for the maximum potential accuracy and stability of the method. The second example is a strong constant gradient model in which the vertical and horizontal velocity gradients are both 1.0 km/s/km, and gives some intuition on the effects of lateral velocity variation. The third example is the ``make or break'' Marmousi model, to test the algorithm's response to a complex, highly contrasted 2-D velocity model.
