California - The state where I currently live.
Lots of random stuff, reflecting the state's incredible natural diversity, not
including the stuff from Yosemite or Sequoia/Kings Canyon.
SeKi - a.k.a., Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park.
This outdoor wonderland certainly deserves a directory of its own,
separate from "California", just like Yosemite. Only problem is:
we haven't done much exploring there...yet.
Yosemite NP - I devote an entire section to
my trips within this fantastic national park.
Colorado - Pictures from my stay at Colorado School
of Mines in 1996, a July, 1997 trip, and my internship with Landmark Graphics.
Montana - Photos from a wonderful week of hiking and
climbing in Glacier National Park, Montana, with Kim's brother Robert.
Hawai'i - In March, 2003, Kim and I visited the Big Island
of Hawai'i for a wondrous week of sun, clouds, water, and mountains.
Nevada - Nevada is a cool place, as we found out during
a short trip to Great Basin National Park. As we tire of the California crowds,
we will undoubtedly return to the "Silver State".
New Mexico - So far, only a trip to
Carlsbad Caverns National Park in February, 2006 with Kim's dad.
Oregon - We took a week-long vacation to Oregon in July, 2001;
most pictures are taken in and around the Crater Lake NP area.
Texas - Big Bend National Park in 1995;
Guadalupe Mountains NP in February, 2006.
Utah - I visited Salt Lake City in October, 2002 for the SEG
conference. Photos from the summit of Mount Olympus and downtown Salt Lake City.
Outside the USA
Canadian Rockies - The 2000
SEG Conference was held in Calgary, so I made
a trip in the Canadian Rockies my summer vacation.
France - Antoine and I spent a bit of time in Paris and
Nantes, before and after the 2003 EAGE conference.
Norway - I spent about a week exploring southwestern Norway
during and after the 2003 EAGE conference.
Italy - After finishing my PhD in May, 2004, my parents took
Kim and me to Northern Italy; we visited Lake Como, Venice, and hiked through the
Dolomites.
Virgin Islands - Thanks to Robert's new (2004) job
as an NPS ranger in Virgin Islands NP on St. John, US Virgin Islands, we got to enjoy
nine days in paradise, living like a "local". St. John has some fantastic beaches and
snorkeling, which we enjoyed to the upmost.
And of course...
Random Shots - These are pictures I've taken over
the years, but which don't fit so compactly into my anal-retentive
filing scheme.
